Barbara Blaugdone (1609-1704) feared the Lord from a child, and sought Him diligently according to religion of her upbringing, yet knew not where or how to find Him, until she heard the “everlasting gospel” preached with power by John Audland and John Camm, in the city of Bristol, England in 1654. “Then,” she says, “my understanding was opened, and I took up the cross and came into true obedience, and found that the Lord cleansed me by His power, and made me a vessel fit for His use.” For many years, Barbara travelled and labored faithfully in the work of the ministry, though her sufferings for it were very great, being mocked, stabbed, whipped, shipwrecked, and very frequently imprisoned for her faithfulness to Christ.

Friends Library Publishing exists to freely share the writings of early members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), believing that no other collection of Christian writings more accurately communicates or powerfully illustrates the soul-transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
